TRAINING
At Networks, we define “Training” as the opportunity to learn, relearn, and reflect on current and innovative trends. Training sessions typically occur in a classroom-like setting with interested others.
As in past years, Networks contracts with a number of PA counties to provide a variety of opportunities to explore innovative ideas and practices. This year, we are pleased to continue this with contracts with the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health / Mental Retardation Services and Northumberland County Mental Health / Mental Retardation. Additional contracts are currently in discussion and may be added later. Keep checking in here for updates and availability of events! In addition to "county specific" events, Networks also offers "Fee-Based" events which anyone can attend for a specified cost. For more information and to register online, click on a specific training/event.
Through our contract with Philadelphia Mental Retardation Services (MRS), we offer this Course Guide for Fiscal Year 2008 as an overview of scheduled events and opportunities to assist you in planning. Brief descriptions are listed along with projected dates, session titles, and presenters for each event. Most Training sessions are held at Networks’ Philadelphia office, 123 South Broad Street, 23rd floor, Philadelphia, PA, 19109. Calendars are mailed out three times during the year, and contain all necessary information pertaining to our training schedule. At that time, registration will be open for those specific sessions. If you prefer an e-mailed version of our calendar, contact registrar@networksfortraining.org, or by phone at 215.546.4111.
Events funded through Northumberland County MH / MR are announced through flyers that are emailed to interested individuals approximately 6 weeks prior to the event. Most events are held at the Northcentral Communication Mentors' Office at 119 Memorial Acres, Sunbury, PA, 17801. Please refer to the event notifications to confirm the location of a particular event. Registration can occur online, or by contacting our registrar (see above).
